Specifically designed to complement food, J2O White Blend White Grape & Kiwi and Red Grape & Blackcurrant offer a lighter, more refreshing taste, ideal for food occasions and beyond.

Staff engagement holds the key to any free trade launch. They’re in a unique position to drive incremental sales but can lack the motivation that makes the difference. Our brief was to deliver a toolkit, which showed managers the profit potential of staff advocacy, while giving the staff themselves the knowledge and encouragement to be more proactive in selling additional soft drinks, particularly White Blend.

Rather than be satisfied with a standard POS solution, KLM developed a kit that would more actively engage staff, incentivising them to demonstrate their understanding, whilst taking some of the responsibility for training away from licensees.

Each member of staff was given a scratch card that tested their product knowledge, in return for the chance to win in a prize draw. To help improve visibility in outlet, a ‘best display’ promotion ran simultaneously, inviting licensees to send in their pictures of a White Blend display, for the chance to win a 50” TV for their bar.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles asked us to develop a scheduled series of communications to boost accessory sales, led by a 6pp leaflet to the entire network, increasing the visibility of their range, promoting core items and uncovering their full potential.

Our client liked it so much, they presented it to their factory colleagues/representatives in Germany, who manage sales and performance across Europe and the rest of the world. They also loved the fresh approach adopted by the UK.

The ad was written by our Creative Director Paul Baker, produced by The Gate Films, directed by Phil Taylor and shot by James Henry.

Filming took place in Argentina, home to the world’s best ‘hand lord,’ Marcos Perez. Hand lords display incredible feats of dexterity with their fingers, in this case manoeuvring playing cards, dice and roulette balls at lightning speeds to dramatic effect.

Designed for every gambler who’d rather bet with their head than their hands, the commercial ends with a strong call to action to visit the Totesportcasino.com website.

But it’s not just about the building itself. Through an innovative online experience, the library’s wealth of inspirational content will be easily available to everyone, everywhere.

So you can imagine how happy we were to win the nationally tendered brief for creating its brand identity.

We set the foundation in a powerful strapline…Rewriting the book. A statement of bold ambition and radical change, it acknowledges from the outset, that the new Library of Birmingham will challenge conventions.

Then came the visual identity. Starting with a PR event to find 26 ‘characters’ from the local community – children, mothers, students, teachers, artists, business people, scientists, doctors, athletes… each of them set to play a part in a flexible identity. Not one fixed logo, but 26 ‘variations’ ready to be applied in any number of ways.

We’ve since developed a stunning set of brand guidelines, to protect the identity and guarantee its consistent interpretation in the future.

Along with creating the identity for the Heart Appeal itself, we’ve produced the comms for the whole campaign (including advertising), dressed the hospital and put together a package of fresh ideas to keep things moving forward.

The fact that the children featured are all ex-patients of the Cardiac Unit adds a real emotion to the work. All of them are little success stories – and all of them are thrilled to be starring in the campaign.

We evolved their existing style, turning our attention to the inside of the airports, shifting the emphasis to play to all of their advantages and strengthen their competitive propositions.

We also developed a new way of displaying the tactical information that it was necessary to convey. The new ads are warmer, more emotional and closer to the spirit of the airports. And are all the stronger for it.

We’ll be using our wealth of experience and expertise in AFH to help us exploit all of the opportunities within this growing sector, and develop promotional partnership ideas to increase footfall, repeat visits, transaction values and (of course!) sales of yogurts and rice in the host retailers. Yummy!

With the support of FIFA, the aim is to generate millions of people to sign up online by the end of the World Cup in July.

It’s lighter, more approachable and acts more as a sales tool, driving traffic to the college website (which is also now easier to update). The entire guide was rewritten and redesigned, with brand new photography and featured a starring role for the famous red sofa, synonymous with the college from previous literature.

In a spin-off project, we also produced a video for the college which was emailed to the parents of prospective students. Filmed on location and featuring contributions from staff and students, it offers the ideal way for the college to get its message across consistently and effectively.

We have a track record of successful design and advertising work for the city and will now work with the council to develop a brand identity for the new Library.

We were really impressed by KLM’s bold vision for the Library’s identity and their ideas to ensure its leading role in the lives of our citizens and the wider world.”

Our job is to create an engaging visual identity which projects the Library’s accessibility and relevance, as well as its iconic architectural stature. We are passionate advocates for Birmingham and thrilled to be appointed to such a prestigious project.”

Building work on the library will begin in January 2010, with the new building due to open in 2013.
