EVERYONE WANTED TO BRAND THE LIBRARY OF BIRMINGHAM. WE’RE DOING IT.

KLM has beaten competitors from all over the UK to win the contract from Birmingham City Council to help develop a brand identity for the new Library of Birmingham.

We have a track record of successful design and advertising work for the city and will now work with the council to develop a brand identity for the new Library.

Brian Gambles, Assistant Director of Culture at Birmingham City Council said, “This tender has generated enormous interest in the creative industry, which indicates the importance and prestige being attached to the new Library. We were really impressed by KLM’s bold vision for the Library’s identity and their ideas to ensure its leading role in the lives of our citizens and the wider world.”

Chairman of KLM Jon Derry commented, “The new Library of Birmingham will be a cultural hub for the City. Our job is to create an engaging visual identity which projects the Library’s accessibility and relevance, as well as its iconic architectural stature. We are passionate advocates for Birmingham and thrilled to be appointed to such a prestigious project.”

Building work on the library will begin in January 2010, with the new building due to open in 2013.
